What We Taste: dark chocolate raspberry + papaya + grape soda
Finca Rosita is our first offering from the Illimani region of Bolivia from the Valverde-Aramayo family. The farm, Finca Rosita, is named after Rosa Angelica Aramayo, the matriarch of the Valverde-Aramayo family, but it’s run by her grandchildren. They recount how she was quiet and contemplative as a painter, adventurous as a competitive ski jumper, all while joyous, kind, and dedicated to helping others both as the president of the Bolivian Red Cross and through sustainable agricultural practices and community building within the industry.
Approximately 80 acres of the farm are solely devoted to growing coffee, and the farm offers processing for their neighbors, creating a hub for the local coffee community while creating collective growth for all local producers.
This coffee, Like Rosa, is many things simultaneously: fruity and bright while sweet and smooth, it punches with strong notes of familiar flavors like raspberry dark chocolate, but it does so subtly with the likeness of papaya - humble - and the excitement of a a bubbling over grape soda.
