A note about your order

To ensure you're receiving the freshest coffee possible, we generally push orders placed over the weekend to the following roast week. So if you order on a Friday afternoon, your order may not be sent out until Wednesday. This also includes 5lb bags.

This is a partnership that we have been cultivating for quite some time. Kelsea and Tyler, the owners of Captain + Stoker went down in June of 2023 to visit with the producers to understand some of their cutting edge methods as well as experience the local culture. The coffee farm “Finca La Joya” has been operating in the family for the last 150 years with plants that have been bearing fruit for over 125 years.

Two brothers now manage operations. David and Eddy, both engineers, are now carrying the family torch after their father, Bernarndo, expanded the farm using principles from studying agronomic engineering. The most recent shift in the farm’s direction has been the focus on experimental lots as highlighted in this pineapple yeast inoculated anaerobic natural. Initially a “just for fun” project, David started experimenting with natural yeasts of peach, apples, kiwi, and pineapple yeast. Pineapple stood out among the rest. We hope you enjoy this truly unique and remarkable offering.
