A note about your order

To ensure you're receiving the freshest coffee possible, we generally push orders placed over the weekend to the following roast week. So if you order on a Friday afternoon, your order may not be sent out until Wednesday. This also includes 5lb bags.

What We Taste: berry punch + black cherry + plum + soft

Halo Beriti and Chelbessa are two small villages just outside of the famous Gedeb district, known for their high quality and highly coveted natural coffees. This single origin offering is the result of the diligent labor and collaboration of the villages’ smallholder farmers. These local smallholders either grow small amounts of cherry in their gardens or collect them from nearby rainforests, later merging their harvests together. This creates a coffee embodying what Captain + Stoker is all about: working in tandem.

After the cherries are harvested, they are evaluated and transported to two processing stations. At the first station, the whole cherries are dried on raised beds for 18 days and then transferred to the second station, where the coffee is dry milled. Once this process is complete, the beans are then ready for export where they'll make their way to our roastery.

While roasting, we made sure to craft a profile that truly highlights what the coffee from this region is known and praised for. The outcome is a vibrant and juicy coffee with notes of berry punch alongside deeper notes of black cherry and a soft, sweetness of plum.
